Serving not Served

“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give himself and his life as a ransom for many” found in Mark10:45.  That passage of scripture speaks directly to the disciples and the Christ followers that we are called to be.  Servants are nothing but a person or persons working for one another, especially to perform domestic duties.  So with that being said, we are to pattern and model our life’s after Christ.  We should all have a heart of a servant, because as our pastor says “we look the most like Christ when we serve others”.  Not just serving in the church but serving in the local community as well. So on our free days or as we like to call them Sabbath’s.  Me and a couple of my roommates take time out of the day to go out and serve at a local church at an event called “Feed my Sheep”.  “Feed my Sheep” is an organization where people come together twice a week and work a thing that is kind of like a soup kitchen.  It’s a great feeling to serve others.   Also known as me third living.  It is a great feeling to serve others and see the smile on others knowing that you did it but serving and showing Christ to others.  When the people came in and we served them it was a blessing.  Not just serving but letting our light shine to them with just everyday normal conversations.  Serving are key to winning souls to Christ.
