Icebergs

Now, finally we have reached three months in as leadership students here at Mission Baltimore School of Ministry.  At this point and time I did a lot of reflecting.  Which consisted of how I impact others, how I influence others, and am I becoming a leader worth following.  Overall I am not satisfied with myself simply because I don’t have it all together but at the same time I’m trying to lead others as well.  Honestly it is difficult at times, but during this reflection time I have learned that as being a leader we are like icebergs.  “The iceberg represents your leadership.  The 10% above the water is our skill.  The 90% below the water is our character.  IT’s what is below the surface that sinks the ship.”  So with that being said, our leadership affects everybody.  Influence is leadership, but our influence comes from our character, which comes from inside.  So there are two kind of leaders good ones, or bad ones.  But when you wake up, you determine which leader you will become, because of your character.  As we go throughout our days I challenge you with this statement. “Influence is gauged by CHARACTER” what kind of character are you going to have?
