Practicum! Honestly I
had no idea how this was going to turn out.
First I thought it was going to be miserable, but I was wrong. This week was different, I arrived home from
school on Monday and did absolutely nothing but sleep. Some say its lazy but it was much
needed.
So technically my Practicum didn't start until Tuesday, over our break we were required to have 35-45 hours completely. But for this week I would like to say that I have
recorded 36 hours so far. I love my home
church, and the people that are surrounded with it. I have done it all this week and literally
when I say done it all I mean it all. I
have raked the leaves at the church, cleaned the vans and buses, volunteered at
the food distribution center, changed diapers, worked at the after school program,
I ran the kids ministry for youth group night.
But I did it not really thinking about the hours, honestly I don’t even
consider these things work, because its something I love.
Kids, and making people smile, those two things seem to be
key for my Practicum. I have learned
that no matter what you do everything has to prioritize things especially when
it comes the ministry part of life. With
ministry I have learned to preserve. God
has been telling me that over this time I have spent here at home that I need
to continue to allow him to work through me and that my calling is defiantly
with kids.
So as we go throughout the day, I encourage you to persevere
though difficultly times.
